Our local weekly newspaper is, this week, posting Christmas spirit on their front page. However, it is, at least to my eye, the antithesis of the Christmas spirit (Love your neighbor and be concerned with his wellbeing; or 'love your enemy').
I see two issues here: One - the raising of fighting (wrestling) to a desirable art form (art = the deliberate expression of beauty), and Two, the newspaper playing along as if it is a good and praiseworthy thing to do.
Am I missing something?
P.S. What is the man (ref) in the background thinking? Do we get follow-up on what the boy on the bottom was thinking?
And, why do adults exalt this behavior in some youth, and then later condemn it in others?
"What if god were one of us"
She's got the philosopher's heavy dilemma of 'How can God be all loving and all powerful, and yet bad things happen to good people?" down in song. As well she throws out the personal challenge if you met God, what would you ask him? What is your life question.
And would you believe if believing meant ... .
It's all good.
Funny intro tho - if you know what that is, let me know.
